It's been a dream to hit 1k as a kid on Newgrounds and I can't believe I got this much support on this website.

Newgrounds will forever have my respect and I'll keep giving it the support it needs to live forever.

As for some RR updates, we decided to take a break from the game for a while and start the ENA update sometime around the summer. We want to quickly work on something else so we can come back to RR with no burnout. Hope you understand. Though I'll still be around the game checking for major bugs and maybe make a quick update instead of a major update like the Alloy one.

Thanks for the 920 fans! We're almost there to 1k.

The Alloy update is coming soon. Were making the trailer and polishing up some bugs.

Here's what to expect:

  • New character (Alloy)
  • New Rival boss

We finally finished this update! Check out the premiere here.

After a year of work and sleepless hours, we finally finished. A lot of ideas had to be scrapped and I wish I could put them in, but there was too much, and would've probably taken years to finish. For a game I want to keep free as long as possible, that's not realistic. But we finally got it done and that's all that matters. This game was so much fun to work on.

Big thanks to everyone who helped make this game possible. All the musicians and artist really put their best stuff here. This game wouldn't be possible without you. We also used Waterflame's and Paragonx9's music for nostalgic purposes. Please visit their stuff too. They did a lot of work for Newground's past. Also Big thanks to Newgrounds Rumble and the creators of the game, they are a huge inspiration for us.

We created this game to be next to Newgrounds Rumble, NOT a direct sequel. We wanted to create a different experience for everyone and designed this game to be PvE coop-focused instead of a PvP arena. We designed the game to have old and new faces so that old and new Newgrounds people can enjoy it. Hopefully, you all like it! We love Newgrounds, my brother and I grew up here in 2008. We don't want people to forget this website so this is our gift for you. To the new people who visit this website because of this game remember this quote "Everything By Everyone". That's what Newgrounds is about.

We are open to new ideas and will probably update the game in the future. For now, enjoy the game. We're gonna take a break.

For those of you who saw the Update Trailer for the next update of Rushdown Rivals are probably wondering where it is. I know summer is over and people are waiting to play, but I really don't want to rush the release of the game. We decided to cut the story entirely since it was too much work to put in and it would take forever to get done. We're putting more of our efforts into the survival part instead which we probably should've done in the first place. The good

news is that the game is pretty much complete now and will be released soon. We just need more time to polish and make sure that the changes were worth it. At this rate, it will probably be out in a couple of weeks. Thanks again for your patience. Here are some gifs to distract you:

Hey everyone! Sorry for being gone for a while, there's a lot of things going on that have been slowing down production lately. However, it didn't stop me from working on the game bit by bit. I didn't update it yet though. We decided to drop this update later. Please be patient, the art takes a while :`)



  • Local multiplayer.

  • New mechanic RUSH. Hit 25 combos and receive a player buff. Lost on hit.
  • Controls will now SAVE. (No need to change them again every time you load the game)

  • New OVERDRIVE mode (harder).

  • Fullscreen Support.
  • New main menu screen.


  • Shoots faster.

  • When in RUSH (25 combo), Picos pistol is replaced with an uzi firing an additional bullet. If Pico rolls, his next pistol shot is replaced with a shotgun firing 4 additional bullets.

  • Once per RUSH, Pico will dodge one attack negating the damage and removing all projectiles on screen.

Hey Everyone!

Cassette girl is almost done. Nothing here is final and can be changed in the future, but this is most likely it. There's no release date yet, but hopefully within the next month or so. You can see some gameplay over here by Keith Garces. Here is a quick preview of what she does:

  • (Basic Attacks) - It's a generic 1, 2, 3 hit string. iu_355197_7841180.gif
  • (Heavy Attack) - Used to launch light enemies into the air for an air combo. Can parry certain boss moves to launch the boss into the air. iu_355198_7841180.gif iu_355199_7841180.gif
  • (Special) - Cassette Girl turns invincible and dashes in a given direction hitting everything in her path (up okay). She leaves an afterimage that she can recall to (lasts for a couple of seconds). Arrival and return of the dash releases an explosion that damages all enemies caught inside. iu_355200_7841180.gif

Sorry for a long time for an update. I took a couple of months researching how to improve the fps of Rushdown Rivals. I was able to significantly improve the fps but really required me to reverse engineer my spaghetti code. Now I'm back on track making more stuff for the game. We cookin some really good stuff. Hopefully, I can show you more stuff soon :p.
